Mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) are small mobile networking services that take advantage of other big mobile networks to offer cheaper service to subscribers. Not only these systems provide affordable service compared to the big ones, but they also give you the potential to increase privacy.
Tello is a convenient example of these MVNO’s, and as you know, Sprint is the service provider of Tello. However, Sprint is also one of the most aggressive investors in these networks. In this article, you’ll read all about the companies that are “Sprint-based.” They are the fastest and most secure, so you can pick and go with any one of them knowing that you’re in safe hands.
1. Tello
We put Tello first because besides being one of our stores for which we have valid coupons; it offers a combo of services available nowhere else. Like most other MVNOs, you don’t have to sign any contracts, and you can leave whenever you feel like it no questions asked. Tello has no hidden fees; you get what you pay for. Overall, a great alternative to the regular mobile networks makes you pay for minutes you will never even use.
2. CellNUVO
CellNUVO is the type of apps that “big networks don’t want you to know about.” It is an app that works extra hard to make you “free.” i.e. save money. CellNUVO provides “unlimited calling, text, and data” free. The more “silver” you accumulate, the more you can use the services. You win silver by watching video ads and completing surveys. There’s no limit on how many silver you can collect. To bypass the account creation, enter activation code: TRIAL. Start collecting silver and enjoy entirely unlimited and free mobile service.
3. Expo Mobil
Supported by both Sprint and Verizon, Expo Mobile has the best deals. You have the Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) option, or you can buy a new mobile. Monthly plans are straightforward and they as little as $18 month. If you prefer to Pay As You Go, Expo Mobile offers that option too. The only downside is that it doesn’t work on any device except Sprint and Verizon devices.
4. Flash Wireless
ACN’s Flash Wireless is the best for making international calls at an affordable rate. The services are based on Sprint, Verizon, and AT&T. Flash Wireless offers many solutions, not just wireless mobile communications but also high-speed internet, 4G LTE, automation, satellite TV, and more. The best part? Through the “Strive For 5” program, you can invite five of your friends and enjoy free service for the rest of your life.
5. FreedomPop
FOB, FreedomPop has a free basic plan you can use without signing any contract. According to their website, the free program includes “500 texts, 200 minutes, and 500MB each month.” In addition, if your friends have it, you can have unlimited calling and texts, too. You will also earn free 4G LTE data on a monthly basis by completing offers provided by FreedomPop’s partners. It’s really one of the best democratic MVNOs anybody could ask for because the free hotspots and coverage are fantastic.
6. Ting
Ting is new the new RingPlus. While RingPlus was one of the best independent MVNOs, it is now out, and users are starting to migrate to Ting. Ting billing system separates between calls, texts, and data, so there are no traditional plans. You just pay for what you use. The Ting dashboard allows you to use more than one device, and you get to control usage limits.
7. Project Fi
The most exciting project by Google, it allows you to connect to the best coverage where you are. It also offers a pay as you go service, so you only pay for the minutes and data you use, if you have any credit left it will be moved to the next month. The plan is pretty simple, $20 per month for unlimited service, and that applies internationally. It can only work on Google’s devices (duh!) so Pixel, Nexus 6P, and Nexus 5X. No, “BYOD” for you, sorry.
8. Republic Wireless
It is perfect if you don’t use data, and need your phone just for calls and texts. For $15 per month, you get unlimited calls and texts. Also, no contracts and no hidden fees. Republic Wireless makes for a perfect emergency phone when you need it. Not the best option for international calls, but hey, you can use your phone as a Wi-Fi hotspot!
